Finally: Project's On-site Kick-off Meeting Carried Out

Yesterday, our members and associated members came together at Technische Universität Dresden to celebrate the on-site kick-off of project TRR404 Active-3D. Project Leaders, PhD students, Postdocs, and other members of staff enjoyed the speakers' Thomas Mikolajick and Max Lemme presentation of the 17 projects. Everybody welcomed the extended networking breaks to finally meet with all participating researchers.

One highlight was the talk “Recent Developments in the Exploration of the Potential of NDR Threshold Switches in Electronics” by Mercator Fellow Alon Ascoli.

The young scientists also met separately and elected their representatives Johannes Wilm and ClemensWittberg who will now be the link between the students and the management.

After lunch the group joined lab tours and got to know the infrastructure on site, namely Dresden Center for Nanoanalysis, the cleanroom of TU Dresden's Institute of Semiconductors and Microsystems and the NaMLab.

The PhD students then joined the Dresden Microelectronics Academy by cfaed, the week-long summer school introducing Dresden's unique semiconductor landscape.
