75th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting - Personal Report by Ph.D. student Clemens Wittberg

As reported here before, our Ph.D. student Clemens Wittberg (Jülich Research Center) had the honor to be invited to participate in the 75th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting! During the week, Wittberg exchanged ideas with Nobel Laureates including John Martinis, John Jumper, and J. Michael Kosterlitz, as well as with fellow young scientists representing a broad range of disciplines and countries.

A particular highlight was his invitation to present his research in a Next-Generation Science Session, where he was selected as the first speaker among only 53 early-career researchers chosen through a competitive process to give a presentation.

Beyond the scientific program, Wittberg participated in discussions on science policy and the societal impact of research with distinguished guests, including German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and former German Chancellor Angela Merkel. These exchanges underscored the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing global scientific and societal challenges.
